My journey so far
An efficient store and a brilliant team
A typical day will involve being there to open the store ready for the rest of the team. We need to ensure all our shelves are stocked and clean, that any gaps are investigated and stock re-ordered if required. I always try to ensure that my back-office jobs are completed before the store opens. If there are additional tasks then my team and I always make sure we work around the business and complete them at quieter times during the day. We also make sure that the tills are cashed-up and ready before we open. We usually spend the rest of the day serving our customer and dealing with queries, filing prescriptions and mediating between the pharmacist and customers.
On a broader level, I’m also here to support my team members with training and upskilling. My current team are brilliant – we’re like a family. We all support each other in work and personal life. If we see that one of us is very busy and needs help, we don’t wait to be asked – we roll up our sleeves and get stuck in. With this team I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in any store (and I’ve managed and worked in several over the years!).
Fairness, passion and lots of compassion
LloydsPharmacy always tries to be fair with staff; there are always different incentive bonus schemes to work towards earning extra money. I think to do well here you have to be a team player, a good communicator, and be passionate about healthcare and customer service. It’s really important that you have patience and compassion for our customers too.
Ensuring our customers keep coming back
I feel that I make a difference by helping customers solve problems, and by making them feel valued. My aim is to ensure they always want to return to us time and time again with a smile.
LloydsPharmacy is a great company to work for. If you want career progression, they’ll support you all the way.
