I’ve worked for LloydsPharmacy for 20 years. In 1998 when I started, I had a young family, and just wanted a part-time job that would hopefully lead to a new career.
We’ll always go that extra mile for our patients
Pharmacy Manager, LloydsPharmacy
My journey so far
I now look after a team of seven. I work in the dispensary and also on the shop floor, and I’m committed to 100% customer care.
My daily role involves running the pharmacy to the highest standards. So I’m involved in everything from opening the store, stock counts and price changes, to serving on the tills, dispensing and cashing up. There’s a fair bit of admin and paperwork too. If anyone comes into the branch for a diabetes or blood pressure test, I can do that as well; you have to be flexible in my job. I also help to make up dossett trays for our elderly patients, which is very interesting.
I think that to succeed and enjoy being part of our team, you need to be proactive, customer
orientated, get on well with people and be a caring person who’s always ready to help.
Caring for our customers
It’s really important for me and my team that our customers are well cared for with regards to their medications. We make sure that patient safety is adhered to at all times. My team and I will always go the extra mile for all of our patients.
The best job in the world
I love my job because I really enjoy being around people. Being part of my team is like a family. I also like moving around each pharmacy, and working for a big company that lets us decide what career path we can choose.
I’m really proud to have progressed from an initial seven-hour a week contract, to a Pharmacy Manager and Technician. It’s a really great place to work. There are lots of opportunities, and the hours are brilliant. They’re just a few of the reasons why I’ve been here for so long!
