Job Title Healthcare Assistant – Homecare and Patient Support Services
Location: 3 days field based across Winchester and surrounding areas plus 2 days working from home
Hours/contract type: Permanent 37.5 hours a week – Monday to Friday 3 days field based (earlys) and 2 days working from home (9am – 5pm)
Salary + Benefits: £22k – £24k per annum depending on experience which is assessed at interview stage – Company car, pension scheme, generous annual leave and other great benefits!
About the Role
Due to the nature of this role candidates will need to have previous experience of taking bloods/ phlebotomy training.
Part of McKesson, a leading healthcare company, we work in close partnership with the NHS and pharmaceutical companies to provide a huge range of nursing services to more than 80,000 patients in the comfort of their own home, at their place of work or in the community. You will be working at the forefront of these services, performing clinical tasks including but not limited to venepuncture, central venous access device care and vital signs in accordance with local policies and supporting on the phones for our Patient Support Services.
The focus is on clinical excellence, so we’ll give you all the support and flexibility you need to spend quality time with your patients and provide them with the best kind of 1-2-1 care. Although you will be working independently in the community for 3 days per week, you will remain very much part of a wider nursing team, enjoying regular contact with managers and colleagues.

You have to be well-organised to succeed in this role, as you will be responsible for managing your own workload and itinerary as well as for supporting patients in the pre assessment process prior to treatment to ensure they are well and able to receive their treatment. You’ll be travelling between patients throughout the day, so a full UK driving licence is essential. Other must-haves include being trained to perform venepuncture and a care certificate or equivalent (NVQ)
