About the opportunity
To provide effective support to LloydsPharmacy Homecares’ central pharmacy team and regional business units to enable effective dispensing of aseptically compounded products and other items. To provide professional pharmacy input in accordance with the RPS/GPhC code of ethics. To support the central pharmacy team as required in processing prescription request.
Accountabilities & Activities:
The promotion of pharmacy advice to LloydsPharmacy Homecare business units. Support the work of pharmacists within the Central Pharmacy team including pharmacy oncology Apply clinical/technical knowledge to translate customer requests for TPN formulations into valid prescriptions and ensure that these are agreed with the customer Ensure all formulations are stable and suitable within the device intended Creation of worksheets and associated labels for TPN formulations. Liaise with regions and accounts to facilitate new patient installations and existing TPN patient formulation changes Liaise with compounding subcontractors to ensure that requests for TPN bags can be processed within agreed timescales Calculate prices for internally compounded TPN regimens To ensure that all documentation is correctly filed Work within the team to facilitate self and colleagues’ professional development Ensure that prescriptions are entered accurately onto the computer system for compounded, non-compounded drugs and premedications To ensure that labels are generated correctly and quantities are appropriate for supply Printing and collation of associated paperwork for onward processing through the main Dispensing Unit Liaising with the oncology coordinators and nursing team when required Application of specialist oncology knowledge to support the work of the department and other areas of the business Other duties as required by the Central Pharmacy Manager
Education and Training BTEC Pharmaceutical science or NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent. Experience Some hospital pharmacy experience, especially TPN and small volume IV products.
