Store Operation Support Advisor

Location: Field – Northern Scotland

 

Role Purpose

Provides support to Retail Operations working both proactively and reactively to protect our people, profit, stock and property. Uses analytical insights and MI reporting to help grow profit and mitigate risk within our branches. Coaches and encourages Manager’s and colleagues to adhere to company policy and processes so that we build a safe and profitable environment that can deliver on the Retail business plan.

 

Accountabilities

  • To be a subject matter expert in relevant company processes and policies relating the protection of people, profit, personal data and property / stock.
  • Support the Regional teams with their Self Audit programs. Working in relevant branches to fully identify and understand root causes and work with manager to address issues, upskill capability and provide support for branches who are at risk due to non-compliance.
  • Respond to serious security / data / health and safety incidents across division as directed by manager to support store teams in appropriate next steps, identify appropriate actions and follow-up where relevant.
  • Target store visits as directed to address suspicious / unusual transaction patterns, MI report outputs, cash loss and agree necessary next steps with Regional Manager to address both internal and external identified areas of risk / opportunity.
  • Provide upskilling and coaching to Pharmacy Managers and teams on key risk processes.
  • Ensure that managers and teams are aware of their responsibilities in delivering safe places to work and shop.
  • Complete Manager H&S induction training and support Store Managers by coaching during risk assessments, visits and support Pharmacy teams with enforcement visits / action.
  • Support Head of Division to ensure that Risk Assessment, Incident and Claims Management Systems are in place and followed across the Division to improve Health & Safety metrics and reduce costs / risk.
  • Engage and upskill managers and teams to follow and adhere to a high standard of HSE and follow the reporting on any risks or issues that need attention, escalating any urgent issues that remain outstanding.
  • Carry out fire risk assessments and support pharmacy teams in fire safety arrangements.
  • Act as an environmental lead in the Division driving environmental best practice sustainability and waste management.
  • Working in ‘at risk’ branches as directed and escalating issues.
  • Build capability of Managers to address stock shrinkage causes and process compliance to improve stock record accuracy.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Understands and is experienced in Pharmacy Retail Operations;
  • Strong analytical skills
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health;
  • Fire risk assessment training / qualification
  • Attention to detail and can communicate complicated issues simply
  • Is trustworthy and approachable
  • Excellent communications and coaching skills to engage and inspire colleagues
  • Good understanding of data protection legislation requirements for both customer and colleague data
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of resilience, strong multitasking skills and working within tight timeframes
  • Team player
