About the opportunity
The Own Brand Product Development Manager will be accountable for developing, launching and maintaining Own Brand and exclusive product proposition with our Far East suppliers. .
You will be responsible for facilitating the development and delivery of our Far East category sales plans, whilst managing new product development projects and working with key stakeholders to ensure that these projects are delivered to specification and on time. This will include visiting supplier manufacturing locations and attending UK/International trade shows, continually seeking new suppliers to broaden our supply base to ensure we maximize cost and identify new opportunities.
A key element of this post will involve reviewing market and competitor benchmarks to ensure that Own Brand products meet customer expectation in terms of formulation, functionality etc; whilst liaising with 3rd parties to support in the development of packaging that meets our brief requirements.
To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who is confident in facilitating product launch plans, bringing together space planning, marketing, PR and online to ensure that our product’s launch appropriately and monitor their performance. It is important for this role that you are experienced in supporting Quality Assurance & Regulatory teams to ensure product safety, legal compliance and identification of approved suppliers.
To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential that you are Bi-Lingual with the ability to speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin. You will have previously worked within a procurement team and have a clear ability in project management and influencing/managing multiple stakeholders. The ideal applicant will be confident in their analytical capability with a good understanding of packaging & design and working knowledge of Quality Assurance.
Please note that as a part of this role there maybe a requirement for some foreign travel on occasion.
